Senior / Acoustic Consultant

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Acoustic / Senior Acoustic Consultant to join our team based in our London Bridge office, with the option for hybrid working arrangements.

The role

Hilson Moran are a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with presence in national and international markets. We work at the cutting edge of design consultancy for a loyal and expanding client base to deliver some of the most innovative and exciting projects around the world. The Acoustics Group form part of our specialist groups, delivering design and consultancy services in all areas of acoustics on both wider Hilson Moran projects and for a varied external client base.

Primarily, this role will involve being a key member of our Acoustic Group to help deliver projects. You must be able to manage your own workload and regularly interface with other internal teams, external clients and architects, with support from our senior team.

 

The individual

You will have a passion and experience in developing LCA strategies from the earliest stages of a project to completion, helping make a real word carbon reduction on the projects on which you work.

You will be an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in sustainability and hold basic understanding of the impacts of buildings on aspects such as climate change and Carbon reduction strategies to help meet our net zero carbon goals.

We’d like to hear from you if you have

  • As a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in acoustics, or a related degree with further acoustic qualifications (IOA Diploma, for example).
  • Corporate membership with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) and a registered tester under the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) would be desirable.
  • Expertise in environmental and building acoustic design across a range of sectors.
  • A strong understanding of existing and emerging regulations, standards and guidance related to environmental and building acoustics, and related disciplines.
  • A good understanding and experience of noise and vibration and its control.
  • Experience in preparing design reports, environmental impact assessments, planning noise and vibration assessments and post construction test reports.
  • Familiarity with using specialist acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA, EASE, CATT, Insul and GIS software.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher.
